ICT training: Gloria Gräser becomes Managing Director of Fast Lane Switzerland
Nowhere does knowledge become outdated faster than in information and communication technology (ICT). The new head of Fast Lane wants to make an even greater contribution to the competitiveness of the Swiss economy and become the market leader.
Certified training is the hardest currency in the job market for ICT specialists. In collaboration with manufacturers such as Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Cisco, Netapp, Red Hat, VMware and Google Cloud, Fast Lane Switzerland has built up a portfolio of over 4,000 courses that are in high demand. Last year, Swiss ICT experts completed over 77,000 hours of training via the Fast Lane network.
Nestlé, UBS, ABB, Zurich, Roche as customers - major order from Swissgrid
This makes us the umbilical cord between the Swiss ICT sector and technological progress in information and computer technology
, says Gloria Gläser, who has headed the company as Managing Director since August 2021. Nowhere does knowledge become outdated faster than in the IT sector
In order to be able to operate the latest systems, for example in the cloud, regular certificate renewals are required - lifelong learning on a monthly basis.
With this service, Fast Lane ensures that the crème de la crème of the Swiss economy stays up to date with the rapid advances in technology. Customers such as Nestlé, UBS and Roche obtain their ICT training from Fast Lane. The company recently won Swissgrid AG, the grid company responsible for operating and monitoring the electricity grid, as a customer in a competitive tender. The contract is worth CHF 1.2 million.
Cloud migration and IT security
In Switzerland, too, we have already taken on a dominant role in training for many of the major IT manufacturers in 2021
, says Fast Lane founder Torsten Poels. Fast Lane is experiencing disproportionately strong growth in its customer base and turnover in Switzerland. Gloria Gräser has shown in the last two years that she understands the needs of the Swiss economy and can create tailor-made offers with Fast Lane
.
Focus: SMEs and women
Gloria Gräser sees particular potential in the SME sector. Switzerland has many highly competitive SMEs
, she explains. But unfortunately they often lack the know-how for digital transformation, which is precisely where Fast Lane helps Swiss companies. The goal is a holistic approach including consulting services to jointly define individual training needs
.
The new Fast Lane boss is also keen to promote women. [Unfortunately, the ICT world is still a male domain[/q], she says. Yet the ICT industry is made for ambitious women and career changers. There is probably no other area in which you can acquire skills so quickly and efficiently, which are in high demand on the job market
.
Fast Lane already offers special programs for Women in IT
in many countries. We will be extending these offers to Switzerland in the future.
