Preparing software developers for their crucial role in Cyber Security
Fast Lane announces Application Security training portfolio and worldwide partnership with Cydrill Software Security
April 26th 2021 – Cydrill Software Security and the Fast Lane Group are launching a global training partnership. As part of the new cooperation, Fast Lane will initially implement the original Cydrill application security training program in the EMEA region before rolling out the program worldwide in the coming months.
The driving force behind this new partnership is the change in the way organizations do business: Digitization, Digitalization, Digital Transformation – there are many words used to describe this trend. But we have seen a lag in organizations updating their Cyber Security approach to match.
In the old days we believed that preventing the attacker from getting in would do the trick, said Eckhart Eichler, VP of Consulting & Professional Services at Fast Lane. But the attacker has proven to us numerous times that it’s hard to stop them. So, we need to re-think and improve the protection of the asset and not the gate. In other words, we need to make an effort to protect our applications and not only the infrastructure. But very few developers have security in mind when writing code; many of them never learned how to do this. This skills gap may prove fatal in times where more and more of our business and therefore our economy is moving into the digital space, resulting in more and more code being deployed. It is about time to change this dangerous situation, and therefore we at Fast Lane are proud to have partnered with an expert company that focuses on this challenge.
We are excited to work with Fast Lane’s world-wide organization to extend our reach for helping enterprises and their ISV’s to prepare and maintain the highest level of cybersecurity readiness in their DevOps teams during their digital transformation, said Robert Budafoki, Co-Founder and Partner at Cydrill Software Security. This partnership aims to address not only the classroom training needs of Fast Lane’s customers, but to provide a subscription based automated platform for continuous learning and drilling to its customers to maintain and measure their cybersecurity coding readiness.
